LARGE ITEM DELIVERY SERVICES

IF IT'S TOO BIG FOR THE CAR, IT'S OUR KIND OF JOB

Some things don’t fit in a trunk and don’t belong with a parcel courier. A pallet of stock from the freight terminal. A dining table from a store two hours away. A washer that has to go down to a basement suite. We move the awkward, heavy and oversized, in either direction, loading large items and freight out just as often as carrying it in, and put it where it actually goes rather than leaving it on the driveway.

WHY CHOOSE GREAT LITTLE MOVING COMPANY

We bring it inside: Most delivery services stop at the curb or the garage. We carry it in and place it where you want it.

Tailgate and pallet jack handling: Proper equipment for proper weight, so your delivery does not depend on who happens to be home.

We’re movers, so we know how to carry things: Stairs, tight corners, elevators and narrow doorways are a normal day for our crews.

One-off jobs and ongoing accounts: A single delivery or a standing weekly run. Both are welcome.

WHAT WE HANDLE ON A DELIVERY

A delivery is rarely just a drive. Someone has to collect the item, get it on and off the truck safely, deal with whatever access the destination has, and then put it where it belongs.

Most couriers do one of those four things and leave you the rest. We do all of them, with a crew sized for the job rather than one driver hoping for the best.

THE DELIVERIES OTHER PEOPLE TURN DOWN

The reason a lot of large item deliveries go wrong is not the item. It is the building. A third floor walk-up, a service elevator with a booking window, a basement suite with a turn at the bottom of the stairs, a driveway a semi cannot get near.

Have stairs, tight corners or tricky access? Let us know when you book so we can plan the crew size and equipment around your delivery. We’re here to help with more than just the drop-off.

HOW IT WORKS

HOW A DELIVERY RUNS

1.

Tell us what and where

Call or send photos. What the item is, roughly what it weighs, where it is coming from and where it is going.

2.

Get a
quote

We give you a price before anything moves, including anything about the access that affects the job.

3.

We
collect it

From the supplier, the warehouse, the terminal or the store. You do not need to be there for the pickup.

4.

We deliver and place it

Inside, in the right room, unboxed and packaging taken away if you have asked for that.

DELIVERIES FOR OKANAGAN BUSINESSES

If you are receiving stock regularly, waiting on a freight terminal call, or sending product out to customers, a standing arrangement works better than booking job by job. We run ongoing deliveries for retailers, trades, suppliers and offices across the Okanagan, with one point of contact and a schedule that fits how your week actually works.

Talk to us about a regular run and we will build it around your delivery days rather than ours.

THE BENEFITS OF A LOCAL DELIVERY CREW

1.

The Right Crew for the Job

Most large-item problems are really one-person problems—someone trying to tackle too much alone. We send the right-sized crew and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently.

2.

Local roads, local buildings

We know the Okanagan, the loading bays, the strata rules and which streets a big truck cannot turn around in.

3.

Care at every step

We wrap and secure everything properly, and handle your items with care from pickup through to placement.

Cost was absolutely reasonable especially considering a piano, several large pieces of furniture and stairs were involved. Thanks again to GLMC for an outstanding move.

Hired these guys to move some furniture and the attitude and efficiency of the guys was fantastic. I’ve got a tight little switch back stairway and they handled it no problem.

Very, professional, efficient and helpful. In fact, I was helped assembling my large storage bed frame. This clearly made my life much easier.

FAQ

You Ask, We Answer

Check out our FAQs to find the answers you’re looking for.

We handle a wide range of large items and palletized freight. Tell us each item’s weight and dimensions, along with the pickup and delivery details—including loading docks, stairs and where it needs to be placed. We’ll review the requirements with you and confirm how we can help.

No. We deliver palletized freight and loose items equally. If what you are receiving happens to arrive on a pallet, that is fine, and if it does not, that is fine too.

Inside delivery and placement are available, depending on the item and the access. Tell us where you’d like it placed and about any stairs, elevators or tight spaces when you book. We’ll review the details with you and plan the crew size and equipment around your delivery.

Yes. That is one of the most common things we do. Give us the pickup details and the reference number and we will collect it and bring it to you.

Yes, if you ask for it. We will unbox the item, take the cardboard and plastic with us and dispose of or recycle it.

After hours and weekend delivery is available. Buildings with strict elevator windows often need this, so tell us early and we will work around it.

Yes. Standing weekly or monthly runs, or ad hoc jobs as they come up. One point of contact either way.

Each delivery is quoted based on what you’re moving, the pickup and delivery locations, and the handling required. Share the item’s weight and dimensions, access details and any extras such as unboxing or assembly, and we’ll provide a free estimate before you book.

We can assemble office furniture such as desks and workstations, depending on the item. Tell us what needs putting together when you book, and we’ll be happy to confirm whether we can help. We don’t assemble or install medical or dental equipment.
